    4Kids rumored to be 4Sale.
posted by Amerowolf on 04 Aug 2009 09:17

ANN heard that paidcontent.org heard that 4Kids was putting itself up for sale due to a series of plummeting sales which threaten the companies survival. Why anyone would want to buy a failing company, much less one that makes horrible dubs of anime, is beyond me. When approached about the supposed sale, 4Kids said they could not comment on speculations and rumors.

So for now, a rumor it may be, but hopefully, it's true and someone who likes anime and know what's good for it will take it over and they'll start producing quality dubs again. But dreams often don't come true.

    CNN Cares About Our Pain
posted by Amerowolf on 01 Aug 2009 11:19

    [CENTER]

[LEFT]If you watch any sort of nightly news show, I'm heard you've heard the word "recession" about a billion times now, however, us anime fans might not often think that it would hurt our hobby/lifestyle. But it has. Oh, it's been hurting in Japan like it has everywhere else. It's not just the recession that's hurting them either, it's that thing that we all do but feel horrible about. No, not make awkward thrusting motions at our body pillows with a Haruhi pillow case on it. Downloading.

The anime market, as CNN reports, hit it's peak of sales in 2006 and has since dropped off. As the internet gets faster, and the anime is easier to obtain, the more we get it for free. This may seem awesome when you need both to pay your rent and to get your anime fix, but it's only hurting us. The lack of new titles being released is our fault, as studios don't have the funds to create new titles like they used to.

If you've ever had a dream of hopping a plane to Japan to be an animator, you lazy English speakers should rethink this. CNN reports that conditions for animators of smaller studios are cramped, hot, and often very stressful. An animator often works on average 6 to 7 days a week for 10-12 hours a day. If you are unlucky enough to live in Tokyo, you may end up in a one room apartment with no bathroom of your own like most animators do.

You should all reconsider before you download something to watch, I know you won't, but still. We're killing ourselves.

Fairy Tail's Anime Voice Cast Announced
posted by Amerowolf on 01 Aug 2009 10:08

    [CENTER]

[LEFT]As you may or may not be aware of Fairy Tail, a semi-overshadowed Shounen manga by Hiro Mashima is to have an anime adaption premiering in Spring 2009 something. In the 36th issue of Weekly Shounen Magazine a little taste of the voice cast was announced. Thus far we have:

    Natsu: Tetsuya Kakihara
    Lucy: Aya Hirano
    Happy: Rie Kugimiya
    Gray: Yuuichi Nakamura
    Erza: Sayaka Ohara

I don't know much about voice acting, but the voice of Natsu is the same man that does Fujioka in Minami-ke. This pleases me deep, deep down.

For this that don't know what Fairy Tail is, I mind as well give you a little taste of what other Shounen manga is out there other than Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. Fairy Tail follows Lucy who wants to be a real full-fledged mage to a small town where she neets Natsu, a member of one of the more infamous mage guilds called Fairy Tail.
