- What is Yu Yu Hakusho all about?
Yu Yu Hakusho is the story of a 14 year-old boy named Yusuke who dies, but then is brought back to life as a spirit detective. Using Reiki (his spiritual energy), he battles bad guys and protects the human race.
- Who are the main characters?
There's Yusuke, our hero. He dies from being hit by a car while trying to save a small child. Hiei is one of Yuusuke's friends, although I use that term lightly. Little is known about who he is or where he comes from. He is extremely loyal to those who help him, but operates under his own (private) set of ethics. Kayko is Yusuke's closest friend and his voice of reason. Botan is Yusuke's Guide to the Spirit World and his assistant in his detecting duties. Kurama is a 300 year old warrior who fights regularly at Yusuke's side. Kuwabara is a formidable ally for Yusuke and is also his main rival at Yusuke's high school.
- What's a Spirit Detective?
Unbeknownst to the average human, there are many bad/demonic spirits lurking about, ready to create mayhem among the human race. Spirit detecting involves seeking these bad guys out and preventing their dastardly plans from ever taking shape.
