The Episode starts out with Ichigo Kurosaki (a teenage boy who has the ability to see and communicate with Ghost), is helping a young girl’s ghost when some skateboard punks knock over a vase in tribute to her death. After beating up the Punks he returns home and Promises to return tomorrow with some new Flowers for the Vase.
The next day Ichigo (on his way to put flowers in the vase) sees the young girl being chased by a big monster called a Hollow. Ichigo goes to help the girl but just when the girl is just about to be eaten a woman (Rukia Kuchiki) appears and saves the young girl.
That night While Ichigo is laying in bed Rukia enters the room and is surprised when Ichigo can see her. While they are talking a Hollow appears and starts attacking Ichigo’s two younger sisters. After being injured by the Hollow, Rukia transfers all her powers to Ichigo so he can save his family and himself.
