The Episode starts off with Ichigo fighting a modified soul who has taken his real body. During there battle Rukia gets a message on her spirit phone about a near by Hollow. So then Ichigo and the modified soul fight the Hollow together. After beating the Hollow Urahara removes the modified soul from Ichigo’s body.
Ichigo asks what’s going to happen to the Modified soul and Urahara tells them he is going to destroy it. Rukia takes the soul from Urahara and says there still use it. As the sun is setting Ichigo puts the Modified soul into a stuffed lion doll and gives it the name Kon.
The Next day, June 16th Ichigo is acting strange. Rukia asks why he is acting so strange and he tells her that tomorrow is the anniversary of his mothers death.
