Vice Captain of the 2nd Division

Information: Marechiyo's full name is, Marechiyo Yoshiayamenosuke Nikkataroemon Oomaeda. Reason being he originates from a rich family but nobody uses his full name. A large, loud mouth and ignorant fellow, it's unknown how he actually reached a Vice Captain position.

Zanpaku-to: His Zanpaku-to "Gegetsuburi" is a normal Katana. On his Initial release call, "Smash" Gegetsuburi changes into a large spiked ball.

Soul Society: The Sneak Entry Series: No information.

Soul Society: The Rescue Series: Being alongside Soifon most of the time he attended Rukia's execution at the Sogyoku. When Ichigo saved Rukia and gave her to Renji, Marechiyo was ordered to chase him. But when Ichigo stepped in his way, Marechiyo immediatly activated his Initial release but was easily taken out by Ichigo smashing Marechiyo's Zanpaku-to to pieces.

!Anime Only! The Bount Series: When the Bount finally broke through into Soul Society. Marechiyo was walking around in Rukongai with Tetsuzaemon and some of the Soul Reapers in the Division. Marechiyo was bragging about himself but then bumped into the Bounts Jin and Koga. Knowing they were the Bount he sent his Division at them but everyone was taken out. Now in fear, Marechiyo hesitated about attacking them but with Tetsuzaemon by his side they both attacked at once but stood no chance and were beaten with ease.
