Mayuri Kurotsuchi
Captain of the 12th Division and President of the Research Institute.

Information: Mayuri's normal appearance looks like a average Male with spiked blue hair, but he never shows himself to anybody and always wears a disguise similar looking to a skeleton.

Back Story: When Kisuke Urahara fled Soul Society, Mayuri took over is Presidency of the Research Institute and Captain of the 12th Division. Since he became President of the Research Institute he has experimented on over 2,000 Quincy's nearly taking out the Quincy race. He also went as far as experimenting on himself, equipting his body with new abilities and eliminating many weakspots. Such new body pieces he has given himself is the ability to detach and extend his left arm to a greater distance and being able to pull out a scyth like weapon out of his head through his ear and finally the ability to turn into a thick water like substance which cannot be attacked to regenerate. If Mayuri's body is destroyed he can still enter the Water stage and regenerate what is lost. The only known way to kill Mayuri is to destroy his brain. Mayuri also created his own daughter who became his Vice Captain, Nemu Kurotsuchi. He doesn't treat Nemu lovingly and will simply use her as cannon fodder and will kill her if she gets in the way. Mayuri doesn't care for his Division as in one instance he used some of his men as a trap and blew them up to hope catch the opponent.

Zanpaku-to: Mayuri's Zanpaku-to is called Ashisogi Jizou and resembles a Katana. With the Initial release cry, "Scratch" the hilt of Ashisogi Jizou turns into a scary deformed Baby's head with 3 points on the end resembling a trident and if it slashes someone they become paralyzed. His Final release, "Bankai, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizou" creates a giant chimera of a deformed baby crossed with a caterpillar. It's breath is pure toxinous gas and if alot is inhaled causes immediate death.

Agent Of The Soul Reaper Series: No information.

Soul Society: The Sneak Entry Series: Mayuri managed to find Uryû and Orihime after they broke into the Court Of Pure Souls and using his unqiue, un human abilities, Mayuri easily followed them, anazlyzed their movements and watched their abilities without being found out.

Soul Society: The Rescue Series: The time had come when Mayuri was to show himself and hoped to blow Uryû and Orihime to pieces by setting up bombs on a few of his Division members. But to his surprise after the smoke cleared, he saw Orihime's strong and unusual defensive ability. Uryû knew that one of them would have to fight and told Makizou who was with them to take Orihime and run. Mayuri obviously didn't accept the plan and wanted to research on Orihime's techniques and tried to grab her but Uryû's quick reflexes didn't allow for that to happen and stopped his effort. Mayuri told Uryû that he is not interested in researching on another Quincy as he has done it so many times in the past. Uryû know fighting for his clan's honour tried various attempts and using very quick speeds to successfully land a deadly hit with his arrows on Mayuri. But he was also quick on his feet and avoided such moves. Mayuri decided to use his Initial release and managed to get close, he ordered Nemu to grab Uryû. Now grabbed, Mayuri swung his Zanpaku-to straight through the both of them landing a fatal hit on Uryû but also Nemu. Mayuri told Uryû of his Initial release abilities and how he is now paralyzed. But hearing cries from his daughter asking for the antidote to cure her wounds, Mayuri didn't want to hear her moaning and beat her in telling her to shut up. Uryû enraged by what he was doing, even to his own daughter tried to move but the paralysis was to strong; Mayuri walked back over and stabbed Uryû's arm for attempting to break the poisen. Now at his mercy he told Uryû of the experiments he did to the Quincy and about the last one he ever did, which was Uryû's grandfather, the man which Uryû loved and learned much from. Uryû telling Mayuri of that man's name, was able to stand up more angry than ever before. Mayuri was astonished at Uryû being able to move under Ashisogi Jizou's ability and decided to experiment on him as he must be different from the past Quincy's. Suddenly, Uryû powered up and engulfed himself in energy. Mayuri watched as Uryû's power grew more and more and as Uryû even started absorbing the buildings around him and turning it into Spiritual energy. Keeping a keen eye on Uryû he quickly retreated when he started to form an arrow and fired it, even though it was so quick, Mayuri was faster and avoided the blow but as he looked up he saw Uryû above him firing another arrow at point blank range, Mayuri couldn't move quick enough and was hit on target. Emerging from the smoke, his left arm was torn off. Now completely enraged, Mayuri release his Final release. Exlaining to Uryû about the capabilities of a Final release he made the attack. But in a complete turn around, Uryû fired a massive arrow completely tearing Mayuri's Final release in half and ripping a giant hole through Mayuri. Not being to fight or stand much longer, Mayuri turned himself into a water like substance and escaped the scene. Hearing of Sousuke's betrayle, Mayuri was still regenrating his body and did not care about what was happening.

!Anime Only! The Bount Series: Syunsui wanting to know more about the Bount, entered the Research Institute hoping to gain Data on them. But Mayuri didn't want him to do anything and blocked his access but in the process deleted the data on the Bount, which really annoyed Mayuri. Eventually being able to recover the data he decided to tell Syunsui, Jushiro and Toushiro on the data he has on the Bount and their relationship with the Quincy. As Mayuri scanned over the data he found out something about the Quincy that could benefit the Soul Reapers against the Bount, so as Mayuri only knew one Quincy he created a device to allow Uryû to use his Quincy powers again but only able when using this newly designed bow. Mayuri sent Nemu off to the Living world to give Uryû the device. Soon after the Bount had managed to break into Soul Society and Mayuri figured it out that the Bount had sent Maki to his Research institute to make up some data on the Quincy so that Mayuri would give Uryû his Quincy powers back for them to break into Soul Society. Getting to work on a new gadget, Mayuri constructed a device which points out a Bount's energy and found Sawatari the oldest member. Mayuri confronted him and told Sawatari that he wanted him for research possibilities. Sawatari denied and with his Doll Baura he tried various attempts to grab Mayuri. But Mayuri had learned of Baura's abilities from Rangiku who fought Baura before so Mayuri knew that Baura moved through dimensions to attack but only linked to solid surfaces so Mayuri easily used quick movements to move out of the way. But in a unexpected turn, Baura appeared from the sky and took Mayuri's arm clean off. Using his drug, Mayuri re-grew his arm and activated his Initial release but his attacks could not cut Baura's tough scaled skin. Learning that the Bount absorbed Spirit particles to grow stronger, Baura could now move through dimensions anywhere. Mayuri finally managed to land a cut in on Sawatari before being tossed off by Baura. Sawatari then found that his body had been paralyzed due to Mayuri's Initial release. Ordering Baura to take them somewhere else, Mayuri used his tracking device and found them heading towards the Shinre Of Penitence and dashed over to where they would re-appear. Waiting from them, Sawatari had no choice but to go all out. Mayuri managed to dodge most of Baura's attacks but was quickly caught off guard and smashed into the mountain side. Mayuri had lost the left half of his torso from the attack and now having no interest in Sawatari for research, Mayuri used his Final release. Konjiki Ashisogi Jizou overpowered Baura and cut his chest up taking him out the fight. Mayuri gloated and listened to Sawatari's final words as he inhaled to much of the toxic gas and died. Mayuri stopped his Final release and returned to the lab to restore his torso.
