Jushiro Ukitake
Captain of the 13th Division

Information: Jushiro is a very kind, wise and respected man. He has a very good sense in Justice and tires to help out alot. Unfortunatly he has Tuberculosis thus making his hair white and causing him internal injury. Even though Jushiro is a powerful man who fights with honour he can only fight for a short period of time. He is well looked after by his subordinates in his Division and sadly his Vice Captain Kaien Shiba died. Jushiro is very good friends with Syunsui and with him attended the Soul Reaper Academy and studied under Shigekuni. Being trained by Shikekuni suggests how powerful Jushiro can be and that him and Syunsui next to Shigekui are the oldest Captains in Soul Society.

Zanpaku-to: His Zanpaku-to is called Sogyo No Kotowari and is a pair of Daisho swords. With the Initial release call, "Every wave be my shield, every thunder be my blade" causes the two Zanpaku-tos to enlarge and attach by cord at the hilt. Jushiro's Sogyo No Kotowari and Syunsui's Katen Kyokotsu are the only Zanpaku-tos in Soul Society which are in a pair. Sogyo No Kotowari and Katen Kyokotsu are considered the twins of Soul Society.

Agent Of The Soul Reaper Series: No information.

Soul Society: The Sneak Entry Series: Being on a alert of the intruders breaking into the Court Of Pure Souls, Jushiro felt a rise in Spiritual energy up high in the Shrine Of Penitence. Inspecting the scene he found Byakuya had just beaten Ganju, one of the intruders and was about to strike Hanataro before Jushiro had to stop him. At that moment Ichigo had appeared and Jushiro saw a splitting image of Kaien, his former Vice Captain. After Yoruichi dropped in and took Ichigo away and Baykua also took his leave, Jushiro ordered Kiyone and Sentaro to escort Rukia back inot prison, have Ganju healed immediatly and made Hanataro an excuse to save his life because he tried to save Rukia's life.

Soul Society: The Rescue Series: As Rukia's execution was drawing so near, Jushiro had already devised a plan with Kiyone, Sentaro and Syunsui to destroy the Sogyoku and save Rukia. Gathering together the necessary items to tackle the power of the Sogyoku he quickly left hoping to make it in time. Luckily as he got there he found Ichigo had already grabbed Rukia and was about to face an attack from the Sogyoku itself. Jushiro quickly jumped in and with Syunsui's help they destroyed the Sogyoku. Now face to face with Shigekuni, Jushiro and Syunsui made a run for it. But were easily caught up in no time. Knowing that they have no choice, Jushiro and Syunsui stood their ground and witnessed the fearsome power of Shigekuni's Initial release. To stand a chance, Jushiro and Syunsui both unleashed their Initial releases and clashed blades with Shigekuni in a dramatic explosion. Upon learning of Sousuke's betrayel, the fight between them stopped and they returned to the Sogyoku to stop Sousuke, Gin and Kaname. With everyone else, Jushiro was astonished to see Sousuke saved by the Hollow and made his way into Hueco Mundo.

!Anime Only! The Bount Series: Jushiro, alongside Toushiro and Syunsui was told the data on the Bount by Mayuri and their relationship with the Quincy.

Arrancar Influx Series: No information.

To Become A Vaizard Series: Before the Arrancar re appeared Jushiro found Rukia and Orihime training in Soul Society. Observing their training, he alerted them when the Arrancar had appeared. Orihime was told to wait back while Rukia went ahead. Then Jushiro advised two Soul Reapers to escort Orihime through to Karakura Town. He was the last one to see Orihime before she dissapeared.
