Rukia Kuchiki
Seated in the 13th Division

Information: The main female character of the Bleach series. A caring character but can be strict when the time comes to it. She didn't always used to be on the strict side. Before meeting Kaien, she was playful, shy and boastful. But after killing her Vice Captain Kaien Shiba when he was taken over by a Hollow she turned for the worst and became up tight, strict and tried to show no sign of weakness. But when she met Ichigo she gradually started to become peaceful and emotional once more as she spent time with him and especially after she was saved by him.

Back Story: Rukia and her twin sister Hisana were directed to the 78th District of Rukongai after they died in the Human world. But Hisana who could no longer support both of them left Rukia on her own. Rukia was then left to grow up on her own and eventually met Renji on an act of stealing. She helped him and became friends and even family with Renji and his pals. They stole food just to survive. But gradually as the years went by their friends around them started dying and Rukia and Renji both vowed to enter the Soul Reaper Academy. As they trained it was clear that Renji's abilities were far superior to Rukia's and Renji became close to an elite whilst Rukia was being left behind. But soon she was picked out by Byakuya Kuchiki and took Rukia into the Kuchiki noble bloodline. Rukia was then put into the 13th Division without even having to take an exam or graduating any classes. Left in a strange new place she felt to shy to talk to anyone until she met Kaien Shiba the Vice Captain who forced Rukia to cheer up and act normal. Rukia became friends with Kaien and admired his wife Miyako and saw her as an inspiration. But after Miyako was killed by a Hollow, she went out with Kaien and her Captain Jushiro to find and get revenge on this Hollow. When they found it, Kaien asked to fight alone and even when Kaien was in the act of danger, Jushiro insisted that Rukia must not enter the fight. Kaien is fighting for honour and if Rukia entered it may help him but destroy his honour. When Kaien had unfortunatly became the Hollow's puppet he went after Rukia. She was scared and had no experience in this matter, but drew her sword and luckily she thrusted her Zanpaku-to through Kaien's chest. Kaien thanked Rukia for what she did and passed away. It was Rukia's duty to then take Kaien's body and report it back to his family, his sister Kukakku and his brother Ganju who were not Soul Reapers. She couldn't tell them what had happened and left them with the body without saying a word or an apology. From then on she became a strict and tough person not wanting to show a sign of weakness.

Zanpaku-to: Her Zanpaku-to is named "Sode No Shirayuki" and resembles a Katana blade. With the Initial release chant "Dance", Sode No Shirayuki transforms into a pure white Zanpaku-to with a long silk sheet attached to the hilt. It's considered one of the most beautiful Zanpaku-to's in Soul Society. Sode No Shirayuki can also preform different "Dance" Ice type abilities.

Agent Of The Soul Reaper Series: It was Rukia's turn to scout Karakura Town and Konso Spirits and slay Hollows. Tracing a energy signal, she found her way into Ichigo's room. Ignoring Ichigo's remarks she is abruptly kicked up the rear end. Amazed that Ichigo can actually see her and even touch her she took the time to explain to him who she is and what she does. Suddenly feeling the tremendous force of a Hollow's Spiritual energy she didn't understand why she didn't feel it earlier. Before she knew it Ichigo had ran outside the fight the beast and try and defend his family. Rukia had to step in but recklessly she suffered a major wound protecting him. Telling Ichigo to become a Soul Reaper she intended to give Ichigo only half of her power but was completely absorbed of all of it leaving her no longer with Soul Reaper powers. With the Hollow now slain and Rukia left powerless, Kisuke the former Soul Reaper Captain and owner of a Soul Reaper shop chipped in and gave Rukia and Gigai to use until her powers came back. But what she didn't know is that Kisuke gave Rukia a Gigai which drains Rukia of energy instead of restoring it hoping the bury the Ord Of Distortion within her and permanantly turn her into a human. The next day Rukia met Ichigo at his school and told him to do her job as a Soul Reaper until her powers return. From then on Rukia gained information from Soul Society on Hollows whereabouts and tried her best to help out even with little energy. She lived with Ichigo in his closet in his room and gave Ichigo directions and how to fight and equally how to do the job of a Soul Reaper. She also always was found near Ichigo's side somewhere incase she had to tell him about a Hollow. Eventually the time had come which she knew that Soul Reapers would be after her so she left Ichigo a note and fled. Easily she was found by Captain Byakuya and Renji. Ichigo though also managed to find her and was easily taken care of by Byakuya. Ichigo trying to move from such a deadly wound, Rukia scolded Ichigo and told him not move and not to touch Byakuya. She did it to try and save Ichigo before she stepped into a portal back into Soul Society with Byakuya and Renji. She was arrested for not contacting Soul Society, giving her Soul Reaper powers to a Human and staying in the Living World over the alloted time. Rukia was placed into prison and placed on Death Row, and to be executed by the Sogyoku.

Soul Society: The Sneak Entry Series: As Rukia spent her days in prison she started becoming friends with Hanataro who was her aid while she was in prison before Hanataro had to move on. Once the intruders had broke into the Court Of Pure Souls, Rukia was escorted to a higher and more secure place high atop the Shrine Of Penitence. Renji gave Rukia alittle hope by telling her that one of the intruders is said to have orange hair and a Zanpaku-to as tall as he is. Eventually someone managed to break into the Shrine Of Penitence which was Ganju and Hanataro. Rukia recognised Ganju as one of the Shiba family and remembered what she did to Kaien. But even so with such a past to the Shiba family Ganju wanted to help her break out. But Byakuya made a stop to this and easily took out Ganju and about to take out Hanataro but Jushiro stopped him. Suddenly Ichigo appeared and told Rukia he was there to save her. Thinking he was tough enugh to take on Byakuya this time, Yoruichi appeared and grabbed Ichigo and made a run for it. Byakuya left Jushiro to put Rukia back in her cell. Rukia re entered her cell and thought about Ichigo.

Soul Society: The Rescue Series: Rukia didn't feel anything when her execution date kept getting pushed forward and just kept wondering where everyone was and what they were doing. But finally the date had arrived and Rukia was escorted over to the Sogyoku but along the way she suddenly felt a drop in Renji's Spiritual energy as if he just died and she was tormented by Gin saying he could save her but didn't feel like it. As she stood at the Sogyoku she gave a request for the intruders to live and be allowed home. As she rose into the air and the Sogyoku activated she knew her fate but suddenly something blocked the Sogyoku from attacking. She opened her eyes to see Ichigo who then grabbed her and passed her over to Renji who was alive and well thanks to Hanataro. Then Ichigo, Jushiro and Syunsui destroyed the Sogyoku. Renji with Rukia ran off and kept running, she didn't know what to think but was grateful. But across their path they bumped into Kaname who then using a technique warped all three of them back to the Sogyoku. Everyone was gone, and Rukia and Renji were confronted by Sousuke, Gin and Kaname. Suddenly they recieved word on Sousuke's betrayel and Renji fought to protect Rukia but was no match. Even Ichigo teamed up with Renji were no match. Rukia was left as Sousuke approached. He grabbed her and told her about the Orb Of Distortion and that it was within her. Using a Kidô, Sousuke opened Rukia up and grabbed the Orb from within her and pulled it out. To his surprise it was much smaller and pulling it out didn't harm Rukia. Finally he told her about what Kisuke did to her and about the Gigai she was given and told Gin to kill her. But Byakuya appeared and saved her. Then everyone else had appeared to stop Sousuke, Gin and Kaname. Sadly they coldn't stop them in time before they were saved by the Hollows and wne to Hueco Mundo. Rukia watched as Byakuya was being treated and from him, she learned of her heritage, about her sister Hisana who was Byakuya's wife, why Rukia was adopted into the Kuchiki family and why Byakuya was so cold to her before. Rukia was so happy about being saved and finally brought up enough courage to apologize to Kuukaku about her brother Kaien. She was forgiven and told Ichigo that she will stay in Soul Society and waved goodbye to him and his friends as they went home to Karakura Town.

!Anime Only! The Bount Series: Just in the nick of time as Ichigo is about to suffer a final attack from Yoshino's Doll Geite, Rukia arrives to stop the blow. Yoshino takes a leave and Rukia is welcomed back. Now once more part of the cast, she helped Ichigo and friends to fight against the Bount as the battles grew more and more intense. When they fought Ho and Ban against their water Doll Rukia tried various Fire type Kidô spells to try and vanquish it but to no avail. Luckily she along with Ichigo and Renji were saved by Yasutora and Ganju. Managing to find out the Bount's hideout she with Ichigo travels there and is surprised that Jin seems to know much about her. Ichigo telling Rukia to carry on through the mansion to find Uryû, she does so but is stopped by Maki. Her Kidô prove no match against Maki's Zanpaku-to. Luckily managing to get by thanks to a distraction she saves Uryû and gets out of the building. Matters continue as Rukia teams up with Orihime to go save Renji but are stopped by Yoshi. Having to fight close combat Rukia asks Orihime to keep Yoshi busy while she powers up a Kidô spell. But Yoshi is too quick and avoids such a powerful technique but suddenly is told to leave by Mabashi. Wanting to test his new Doll's power, Mabashi forces Yoshi to leave and by using his Doll Ritz takes over Rukia's soul. Rukia now acting as Mabashi's controlled slave, she is ordered to kill her friends until her own energy dies out and becomes useless. Shuhei enters and is about to kill Rukia but thanks to Orihime, Ritz is forcefully removed from Rukia freeing her. Finally the Bount manage to escape into Soul Society and the group go after him. Now at home, Rukia enters her Soul Reaper form and wanders through Rukongai looking for the Bount. Once more she encounters Yoshi, but now it's one on one and Rukia didn't have her Zanpaku-to. Knowing Kidô doesn't work against Yoshi, the only thing she could rely on was her Hakuda skills. But proving no match against Yoshi and her Bount, Rukia was tossed around and beaten severly forcing her to run. As she hid, she found a child hiding away who Rukia needed to protect. Taking the child with her to try and take her to a safe place, Yoshi found her and attacked Rukia once more. The child ended up in Yoshi's hands and Rukia was forced to stay or the child would die. Having to do such an order, Rukia was about to suffer a finishing wound but was saved by Byakuya. Rukia was then escorted to his house and treated on.

Arrancar Influx Series: Rukia was chosen part of Toushiro's team to fight against the Bount. Meeting up with Ichigo at his school with the others she dragged him out of class and tested him against Hollows to see if he was alright. Meeting up with him back at his house to explain the Arrancars, Rukia introduced herself to Ichigo's family, made up a story and she was happily welcomed to live in the Kurosaki household. When the Arrancar arrived, Rukia chased after one of them. Meeting outside the Urahra Shop, she found Ichigo confronted by D-roy. Rukia transformed into a Soul Reaper by using a Konpaku and used her Initial release. Within one move, Rukia easily killed D-roy. Upon D-roy's death another Arrancar appeared. Grimmjow Jaggerjack. Even by feeling his Spiritual energy, Rukia knew this guy was on a completely different level. Rukia told Ichigo to run immediatly but instantly Rukia suffered a strong blow to the chest from Grimmjow causing her to cough up blood and collapse. When she awoke the Arrancar had gone and she was fully healed by Orihime.

To Become A Vaizard Series: Over time Rukia noticed that Ichigo had been dissapearing alot lately and Rukia didn't know where he had gone. Rukia decided to go see Kisuke at his shop and just as she arrived, Orihime came out the shop in a rush and noticed she was upset. Talking to Orihime privatly, Rukia found out that Kisuke had dissallowed Orihime to help anymore against the Arrancar. Rukia was annoyed at Orihime thinking she was useless and tried to calm her down and ease her thoughts but suddenly Hiyori appeared and dragged Orihime away without Rukia who was left confused. Rukia tried to track down where they had gone and found a warehouse surrounded by a strange barrier and within Rukia felt Ichigo's Spiritual energy. Now knowing where Ichigo was always dissapearing to she waited for Orihime to come out. When she did, Rukia took Orihime back to Soul Society to train. When the Arrancar had re appeared in Karakura Town, Rukia left Orihime and quickly went back to the Living World. Tracking down Ichigo's Spiritual energy she knew he was fighting Grimmjow. Arriving at the fight she instantly used a powerful technique of her Initial release to completely freeze Grimmjow within a gaint block of ice. Thinking it was over for now, she walked up to Ichigo to help him up. But suddenly Grimmjow broke out the ice and grabbed Rukia's head and powered up a Cero attack at point blank range, enough to turn Rukia into dust. Luckily Shinji arrived stopping the attack saving Rukia and Ichigo and taking Grimmjow on himself. Soon enough Grimmjow was called back into Hueco Mundo and Rukia tended to Ichigo who was severly injured and took him back to his house to his bed. It wasn't long before a meeting was called by Shigekuni and told the group about Orihime dissapearing with the Arrancar into Hueco Mundo and now classed as a traitor. Rukia didn't believe it and wanted to save her but was forced not to take any action against the matter and had to go back to Soul Society at once. She left Ichigo with sadness and went back into Soul Society.

Hueco Mundo: Fight To Reclaim Series: Though she had every intention on going back to help, she and Renji gained permission from Byakuya and were given mantle cloaks for protection then they made haste to meet Ichigo. But finding out he had already gone she was very annoyed and she and Renji had to find him in Hueco Mundo. Luckily tracking him down in time, Rukia saved Ichigo from a giant Arrancar made of sand by using a technique of her Initial release shattering the Arrancar to pieces. Now by his side she told him that Renji and herself thought they were close friends to Ichigo and that they wouldn't abandon him. Rukia and Renji had now joined Ichigo's party once more.
