Kaname Tosen
Former Captain of the 9th Division.

3rd in command of the Arrancar.

Information: Kaname since birth has been blind. To achieve a Captain rank, let alone become a Soul Reaper is quite a strong accomplishmient in itself.

Back Story: At a young age he found someone who he held dear to him but sadly passed away. Kaname decided on following her path of "the one dyed with the least amount of bloodshed". Kaname took her Zanpaku-to and led his life for justice, good will and shed no blood. At the Soul Reaper Academy, he met Sajin Komamura and quickly became friends. After graduation he met Sousuke Aizen. This was the point which Kaname was led onto Sousuke's growing plan and became part of his team. Kaname was an essential part, as being blind he couldn't be falled by Sousuke's Zanpaku-to ability and thus when everyone was under Sousuke's hypnosis, Kaname was left unaffected and played along waiting for the command.

Zanpaku-to: Kaname Zanpaku-to is called Suzumushi and looks like a Katana with a ring attached to the hilt. His Initial release call, "Sing" makes a the opponent pass out if they are hit within the radius. His Initial release also has another phase, "Smash his limbs" causes his blade swing to result in multple blades being thrown. His Final release, "Bankai, Enma Koorogi" results in making the fighting arena pitch black and disables all of the opponents senses.

Soul Society: The Sneak Entry Series: No information.

Soul Society: The Rescue Series: Kaname had learned that the intruders would make their move towards the Shrine Of Penitence and stood awaiting their arrival. Finally Uryû reached the top of the stairs after his battle with Mayuri and Kaname was waiting for him. In a flash Kaname used "Sing", his first Initial release ability to make Uryû pass out, and apologized for ending his journey. Now accompanying side by side with Sajin he found out that the intruders which were caught and put in prison were broken out by Kenpachi and they set off to find him. Managing to catch up with him, Kaname longed for the day that Kenpachi dies. Seeing him as a monster and a obstruction to justice, Kaname couldn't wait to take him out and made the first strike which Kenpachi took head on and shrugged it off. Kaname asked Sajin to fight solo and got his wish. Wanting to take Kenpachi out with everything he had, he used his Final release to completely destroy Kenpachi's senses. Now Kenpachi at his mercy, Kaname made various strikes and started toying with him. Knowing Kenpachi couldn't see, hear or touch him, Kaname had free pickings as he moved around. But he started noticing something. Kenpachi was starting to dodge his attacks from hitting a crucial area. Confused at such a sight, Kaname rushed in for a sure hitting attack which he managed to pull off. Thrusting his Zanpaku-to into Kenpachi he though he had won but suddenly Kenpachi grabbed his arm and could see him again. Kaname know knowing that Kenpachi deliberatly took the attack to cath him, Kaname had given away the weakspot of his Final release. Breaking free, Kaname understood Kenpachi even more as a demon who lives in darkness all his life. Putting his power into a final blow, he made an attack but incredibly it was blocked by Kenopachi as if he knew where he was attacking from. Kaname looked at him in shock before suffering a point blank cut straight across his chest from Kenpachi's Zanpaku-to. Suffering from a deep and serious wound, Kaname dropped his Final release and exhausted. Sajin decided to step in and allowed Kaname to back off to rest. Kaname took the offer and left the battle scene. Healing his wounds, Kaname found out that Rukia had been saved and taken away from the Sogyoku. Now knowing it must be time for Sousuke to reveal his plan, Kaname went after Renji who had ran with Rukia. Finding them easily he didn't speak to them and looked unnaturally emotionless to Renji for the first time ever. Kaname used a technique to warp himself, Renji and Rukia back to the Sogyoku. Happy to know that Sousuke had obtained what he wanted, all three of them were saved by the Hollows before they entered battle with all the other Captains. As Kaname raised into the sky to Hueco Mundo, Sajin shouted at him asking for his justice and where it was. Kaname replied that even though he said he would follow a path "the one dyed with the least amount of bloodshed", what he really meant is that no matter which path he takes will lead to the least ammount of bloodshed because he is blind and either way won't matter.

Arrancar Influx Series: Kaname was ordered by Sousuke to go into Karakura town and bring back the Arrancar who without order went there regardless. Arriving, he found that only Grimmjow had survived and the other Arrancar he took with him perished. Stopping Grimmjow from fighting Ichigo any longer, he told him that Sousuke is not pleased and that acting on his own caused the death of some Arrancar. Taking Grimmjow back with him, Kaname handed him to Sousuke. Annoyed at Grimmjow's dissobedience he requested to kill Grimmjow. But was denied the option, instead Kaname easily sliced off one of Grimmjow's arms and blew it up.
