Kisuke Urahara
Former Captain of the 12th Division and former President of the Research Institute.

Information: Always wearing a hat and acting some what mysterious. Kisuke has a over expressive attitude and loves to talk and boast about something which he likes. He is quite the genious aswell as throughout his life time he has made various gadgets and items. Kisuke rarely likes to follow orders and this leads to another reason as to why Kisuke left Soul Society to end up free lance. Currently he resides in the Living World in Karakura Town owning his own shop and helped by his friends Tessai, Ururu, Jinta and Yoruichi. He sells items to Soul Reapers, heals the wounded and fights against Hollows. His shop also acts as a training ground and a place for plans to made against any disturbances. Along with his good friend Yoruichi whom he spent alot of time with when he was a Soul Reaper Captain, he seems to have known Isshin Kurosaki for a long time.

Back Story: About 100 years before the Bleach storyline, Kisuke was the Captain of the 12th Division and the founder of the Research Institute. Creating many different inventions and items he finally made something which caused his banishment. Kisuke invented a Gigai which actually devoures a Soul Reaper's power if he/she used it and the Gigai was completely undetectable. Kisuke also created the Orb Of Distortion, a powerful device which allows any Soul Reaper or Hollow bypass their limits and become stronger than ever, seeing such power this has he hid it within Rukia's soul. These two things caused Kisuke to be banished from Soul Society so he with help from his friend Yoruichi, fled Soul Society. Kisuke also had enough of following orders and instructions so it was another reason why he fled. Throughout his years, he created items such as: Soul Candy (A pill which is swallowed to eject the Soul from it's body), Death Doll (A doll which makes the Zanpaku-to materialize into the Doll) and Inflatable Gigai (A Gigai which can be blown up with air and act as a decoy.) He also did novel stuides which were later read up on by Sousuke, causing him to learn about the Orb Of Distortion and how to get it from Rukia's soul.

Zanpaku-to: His Zanpaku-to is called Benihime and is one of the few Female Zanpaku-to. He hides Benihime within his cane but with the Initial release chant, "Awaken" it extends outside his cane but doesn't take on any kind of special appearance. His Initial release is able to make defenisve walls and energy like attacks through the ground.

Agent Of The Soul Reaper Series: Sensing a Hollow nearby, Kisuke ventured out to slay it but felt an unrecogised Spiritual energy signal coming from it's location. Arriving at the scene he found Rukia lost of her powers as a Soul Reaper. Kisuke finally found his opportunity, he offered Rukia a Gigai to rest in but gave her the Gigai he developed with the Orb Of Distortion buried inside of it. Not telling her, Kisuke happily gave it to her as if it was a normal Gigai but in reality the Gigai was to absorb her powers making her human and to bury the Orb inside her soul where it should be safe. From then on Kisuke acted normally when Rukia talked about getting weaker and the Gigai acting sluggishly trying to hide any hint of what he's done. On the event in which Kisuke gave Rukia the Soul Candy and realised it was the wrong product he and his team set out to capture the Konpaku which would of escaped from it by now. But finding the Konpaku, Rukia was happy with the product and told her he won't help her if word on the Konpaku leaked out to Soul Society. The day came which Rukia was captured and taken back to Soul Society, Kisuke had already traced down the Spiritual energy and went to Ichigo's aid as he lay their dying. Taking him back to his shop he healed his wounds and told him of a way toand showed him the gigantic underground training base he has hidden under the shop. Telling Ichigo that if he wantes to save Rukia, he would need to reclaim his powers as a Soul Reaper but it was a risky procedure of becoming a Hollow to become a Soul Reaper. But to his expectation, Ichigo managed to pull it off and once again became a Soul Reaper. Kisuke then had to do battle with him to teach him to wield his very own Zanpaku-to and learn new techniques linked with his Zanpaku-to aswell as crucial fighting points. The training paid off as Kisuke pushed Ichigo to the edge causing him to create a Zanpaku-to and found out it's techniques. Kisuke never expected it to be so strong and to see it constantly in Initial release but the deed had been done. Kisuke stopped the fight and told Ichigo he was ready.

Soul Society: The Sneak Entry Series: The day had arrived in which it was time to send Ichigo, Uryû, Yasutora and Orihime through to Soul Society and rescue Rukia. Using the method of linking worlds together, he explained to them that this is their chance and what they will be up against. But with Yoruichi as their aid, they should be fine. Kisuke said his farewells and closed the portal after they jumped through.

Soul Society: The Rescue Series: Kisuke had sensed where Ichigo and crew were going to be re entering back into Karakura Town after saving Rukia in Soul Society. And in time, he with Tessai, Jinta and Ururu caught Ichigo and his friends on a magical cloth. Welcoming Ichigo back he asked him if he was told about in Soul Society. Removing his hat he bowed down and apologized to Ichigo for what he had done to Rukia. Ichigo told Kisuke to apologize to Rukia more when he sees her again. Kisuke accepted and tdropped everyone off at their desired spots.

!Anime Only! The Bount Series: As trouble brewed which Rin, Nova and Cloud were causing in Karakura Town. Kisuke was acting as surprised as everyone else and helping the team plan against these three new terrors. But at a final confrontation against the three, it was revealed that it was all a hoax created by Kisuke. Kisuke told them of Rin, Nova and Cloud being Konpaku's he created all for the purpose of three objectives. One being to teach Ichigo, Yasutora, Orihime and Uryû how to work as a team again. Two to teach Ichigo how to gain help from his friends as he cannot solely really on his Final release to solve problems for him and lastly to help track down the Bount which started to appear for reasons unknown. Assigning each Konpaku to to a member, Uryû was left out and didn't want to take part. Kisuke had to reveal to the group about Uryû losing his powers. Kisuke's shop acted as a home for the wounded as the Bount starting causing chaos and gave the Allied side as it's members increased new information and leads to the Bount's whereabouts.

Arrancar Influx Series: With an increase in strong Spiritual energy, Kisuke moved to the scene of where a big one had entered. But when he finally arrived he found Isshin had already dealt with it. Pleased to see him again and asking him what it's like being a Soul Reaper again he talked to him about the Arrancar and Sousuke's motives which they both knew about. And also discussed about Ichigo and his Hollow self problem and that he was meeting up with the Vaizards. Kisuke told Isshin that he will help to do something about the Arrancar aswell as Soul Society. Happy to have Yoruichi back by his side, they had sensed something with a strong energy signal. Teaming up with Yoruichi like the old days they quickly rushed off to this Spiritual energy which Ichigo was fighting against. Appearing in time, Kisuke used Benihime to block the incoming attack of Yammy's. Giving Yoruichi medicine to use on Orihime who was brutally wounded, Kisuke took on Yammy. But Yammy had no interest in Kisuke and powered up a strong Cero to nuke the entire area over Yoruichi and Orihime. After the smoke cleared, Kisuke stood there calmly and had deflected the attack easily with his own attack. Showing Yammy what he did, he fired off an energy attack from his Zanpaku-to's Initial release but it was deflected by Ulquiorra. Ulquiorra and Yammy escaped back into Hueco Mundo. Returning back to the shop, he asked Yoruichi how she was and asked her opinion on the matter of the Arrancar.

To Become A Vaizard Series: With Renji in Karakura Town now along with Toshiro, Rangiku, Ikkaku and Yumichika, Kisuke wanted Renji to help train Yasutora who asked for personnal training from Kisuke. Making Renji do it, he watched Renji and Yasutora fight in his underground facility. Being disturbed by Orihime she asked how she can help, but Kisuke in all honesty told her to stay out of the upoming battle and wait at the side lines. As cold as it sounds, Kisuke wanted what was best for her and said she was no use in a battle situation but only as a healer. It wasn't long when the next Arrancar appeared and Kisuke told Renji and Yasutora to stay back while he will go instead. Appearing where the fight was raging on between Soul Reaper and Arrancar, he saved Rangiku from a deadly attack from Luppi by cutting off one of his tentacles. Calmly walking into battle he introduced himself, but suddenly the new childish Arrancar Wonderwiss who was doing nothing appeared and grabbed Kisuke but using quick manuevers, Kisuke threw an attack to get some distance. But Wonderwiss just looked at him with a happy face and prepared an attack which Kisuke blocked. Not knowing the technique, Kisuke was then back attacked by Yammy and blew out of the sky with tremendous force into the ground below. But then he stood behind Yammy happily making fun of him. Yammy through another strong attack but Kisuke suddenly appeared behind Yammy again and through a point blank energy attack cutting Yammy. Shwoing him how he's doing it he pulls out a small balloon and blows it up revealing his new creation a portable, inflatable Gigai. He was simply using this Gigai as a distraction for Yammy's attack. Yammy annoyed threw a strong punch yet again but Kisuke easily blocked it saying he won't be caught with that technique. But before Kisuke could start the offense, Yammy was called back into Hueco Mundo along with the other Arrancar.

Hueco Mundo: Fight To Reclaim Series: After learning of Orihime being taken into Hueco Mundo by the Arrancar. Kisuke knew Ichigo would show up for help. But before he did, Kisuke payed a visit to Uryû and was pleased to see his father wasn't around. He told him of what happened to Orihime and that Ichigo was going to get her by himself. Kisuke told Uryû that Soul Society has refused to help knowing that with this information, Uryû would help Ichigo. His claim was right as Uryû joined up with Yasutora and awaited Ichigo's arrival. Kisuke took Ichigo to the underground where Yasutora and Uryû were waiting and was happy to see them all together once again. He also explained that the reason he is helping is because he doesn't like being ordered by Soul Society and is one of the reasons for why he left. Telling them about Hueco Mundo, Kisuke opended the gate and led them on their way. But before they left, Ichigo wanted Kisuke to tell his family a made up story so they don't worry. Kisuke accepted and closed the gate after they left. Knowing that Ichigo's curious friends would be stalking him, he left the shop door open for them and knew they were watching. Kisuke told them to come out of hiding and explained to Tatsuki, Keigo and Mizuiro about Ichigo, Yasutora and Uryû's task.
