Meanwhile, Piccolo is strangling Gohan, holding him up against a pillar, and choking the life out of him. Gohan is fast getting angry now, but Piccolo just wont stop. After a short while, Gohan sees that Krillen is about to be blasted, and uses a massive force to blow Piccolo off him, into the path of the fire.
Krillen gets to his feet just as Garlic Jr releases his energy ball. Piccolo goes shooting in front of it, and takes the blast. Krillen is grateful towards Gohan for knocking Piccolo in front of the energy. Gohan thinks that he is finished, and walks up to him. Garlic Jr is eager to see what happens, as the kid steps towards him. Piccolo starts to shake a little, but Gohan thinks that he is cured. He walks up to him, and Piccolo gets to his feet. The saiyan is overjoyed at Piccolo still being alive after that epic blast. Krillen sees what is happening, and runs towards Gohan, pushing him out of the way after seeing Piccolo charge. Gohan hits the floor hard, but Piccolo grabs Krillen, and decides to take him out now, so he can't get in the way anymore. Piccolo lifts Krillen up by his arms, facing outwards, and starts to squeeze. Gohan pleads with him to stop, but Piccolo carries on. He then starts to sink his teeth into Krillen's neck, to make him one of them. Gohan has given up pleading, and is now ordering Piccolo to stop. After two warning, and Krillen passing out after the bite, Piccolo throws him to the floor, and turns to Gohan. The saiyan kid runs to Krillen to find out if he is ok, and starts shaking him to try and revive him. He is unsuccessful though, and Krillen can't move. It looks like it is all up to Gohan now.
Sensing a large power, Gohan quickly turns round, to see Piccolo throwing a powerful ball of energy at him. He tries to use his own attack to block it, but his energy is just eaten up by Piccolo's, which continues to travel towards him. Gohan manages to block it with his hands, but is struggling to keep it away from him, as his arms are straightened out, and shaking under the extreme pressure of Piccolo's beam. A bit more power is put into it by the Namek, and Gohan is driven backwards, getting himself put through a wall, then crashing into a pillar, as he continues to block the intense energy. After a while, Gohan focus's a great amount of his power on the energy that he is struggling to maintain in blocking, and he barely manages to direct it skywards away from him. A gigantic explosion proceeds as Gohan pants, out of breath from all of the physical force that he put into surviving that blast.
At Karin's tower, Marron, Yajirobe, and the wise cat himself are playing poker. Marron is easily winning, and Yajirobe has had to start forfeiting his clothes, as he is only wearing pants. Karin no longer has his walking stick, and literally half of the things on the whole tower are in a pile next to Marron, signaling her winnings. Yajirobe asks Karin why he isn't reading her mind, and he is told that Marron doesn't even have one though in her head, which is why there is nothing to read. They carry on playing, and Marron loses yet again. Karin is tricking her into thinking that regular items will help get her into heaven, as he has nothing left that is worth betting. The game goes on, as the fight on top of Kami's lookout continues..
Gohan takes a rest against the pillar, incessantly looking for Piccolo. Eventually, he spots a shady figure charging through the darkness. The figure seems to disappear, but Gohan sensed something come next to him, and when he turns round, he is met with a fist to the face from Piccolo, sending him soaring through the air. Piccolo then catches up with him, and starts hammering away at him in the stomach, destroying him. Gohan is flung to the floor, but he manages to get up, relatively unscathed. Gohan runs at Piccolo, but again gets his head kicked in, and is sent through another wall. Gohan is irate now, and when Piccolo charges at him, he manages to block all of the punches, but the final one had such force that it sent him through yet another wall. Again though, Gohan gets up, still full of energy. Piccolo runs at him, but Gohan blocks a few, and launches himself into the Nameks stomach. Piccolo is temporarily dazed by this, but he recovers quickly, and grabs hold of Gohan, throwing him into the air, then hammering him back to the ground. Gohan is up again though, and Piccolo is starting to struggle. He resorts to a special move, where he splits up into three. At first, Gohan is scared by this, but when Piccolo charges, he manages to block most of the punches. Gohan kept blocking two of the Piccolo's, but the third one kept on getting the shot on him when he couldn't defend himself. Gohan was sent through the ceiling after a bit of this happening, and he landed near Garlic Jr. He was on the floor, and was getting taunted by Garlic. He struggled to his hands and knees, and looked up. He saw Krillen! But Krillen was looking different after that bite he received off Piccolo. He kicked Gohan in the face, sending him across the floor. Just then, Piccolo burst through the door. Garlic tells his minions to finish Gohan off, but Piccolo and Krillen get there first, and continue to lay down the punishment on Gohan by hitting him repeatedly in the stomach. Piccolo knocks him down, then grabs him by the scruff off the neck, ready to deliver the final blow. His hand is caught in mid-air by Garlic Jr though, as he says that he has decided hat he will finish Gohan off.
Piccolo actually speaks now, then grabs the small bottles containing Mr Popo and Kami, from out of Garlic's pocket. He throws them to Krillen, then is blown backwards a little by Garlic's power. Realizing that Piccolo was no longer on his team, Garlic turned to Krillen, who broke off the bottle tops, releasing the two people living on Kami's lookout. They soar out of the bottles, and are relieved to be back to normal form. Confused at what was going on, Garlic Jr orders his minions to destroy Piccolo and Krillen, because he was sure that they were no longer on his team. Krillen is worried about Gohan, but Piccolo assures him that he will be fine, and he is, as he struggles to his feet, to see that his friends are somehow back to normal. Piccolo looks at Garlic and his minions, and prepares to fight.
